Landscapes – The pictures in this album, were taken from the mountain tops to the valley floors of the Blue Ridge, And Smokey Mountains. Along the interstate highways, to the smallest of country back roads. They range from scenic mountain landscapes, and flowered fields, to morning sunrises and evening sunsets.
Waterfalls & Streams – The waterfalls in this album are some of the highest, to the smallest in the Carolinas & SouthEast. The stream shots were taken along large rivers, and some of the best trout streams in the east, to the tiniest of trickles. From the rugged Appalachian Mountain Trails, to broad river valleys. Anywhere the water flows.
Flowers – The pictures in this album were taken along the mountain trails of the Blue Ridge, and Smokies. Some from city streets, interstate highways, flower gardens, and state arboretums. They are a mix of both natural occurring wildflowers, and cultivated varieties.
Town & Country – The pictures in this album were taken from the City Streets to the Atlantic Shore. They consist of cityscapes, architectural, street scenes, Shots of general or news interest. and various other assorted images. Any photo that seemed to fit into this category.
Assorted B&W – These photos are black & white renditions, of some of the other photos I considered would make a good study. They consist of a variety of subjects from portraits, to photos of old cars, even some rusty ones. Photos that I considered had a good play of Light and Shadow, and represented good Black and White composition.
Macros & Abstracts – Macro not to be confused with Micro. Offers up a basic 1 to 1 rendition of the subject, when viewed at the original format size. In Micro Photography the magnification can be extreme up to 10 to 1 or more. Abstract Images, are shots usually taken with no purpose or theme evident, sometimes they are purposely altered to hide the true identity of the subject. Often referred to as Digital Art. At other times just a portion of a whole subject is taken, making identity almost impossible (Photo Left). Expect to find anything! in this album.
DMC-TZ1 "Tizzy" Images – This album contains mixed pictures form Panasonic's classic DMC-TZ1 (Nickname Tizzy) Folded Optics Zoom camera. This camera while not being perfect, has some revolutionary characteristics. It features a Leica DC Vario–Elmarit lens (all glass) 5.2 – 52cm., equivalent to a 35 – 350mm lens with an Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.), to virtually eliminate hand shake. That gives a zoom range of 10x at 5mp, and 12.5x (450mm, 3:2 Ratio @ 4.5mp) with Extended Zoom at lower resolutions. That is a lot of zoom in a small compact body, where 6x has previously been the upper limit. This has been done by "Folding The Optics" within the body where most of the 12 lens elements, and the prism are. Which allows the lens to extend only 15mm out from the body; at full zoom (photo left). The construction is superb with an all metal body, smooth lines, and great ergonomic feel. The camera looks, and seems to be influenced by Leica's simplified design techniques. – See full TZ1 review at; "dpreview.com" – Since starting this album Panasonic has introduced two new TZ's, # 3 and # 5, discontinuing the # 1. Sadly; neither the TZ3 or 5, have continued some of the functions that made the TZ1 so versatile. But have rather elevated it, to a one of a kind classic.
Washington DC – This album contains mixed photos from around the Washington DC area. The National Mall where most of the Presidential monuments are, the Smithsonian Institute, National Zoo, and Arlington Cemetery.
3D Stereo Anaglyphs – This album contains mixed 3D stereo anaglyphs, both color and black and white. They consist of landscapes, cityscapes, and other varied subjects. The images may be viewed with red/blue, or red/cyan stereo glasses. They were made using a single digital camera, and a tripod slide bar. Images were processed with "AnaBuilder Freeware".
Proper monitor calibration for correct image viewing, depends on a balance of brightness, and contrast. Also there should be no color tint to this image, only pure white, to pure black. Any color tint to this gray scale, indicates incorrect monitor color balance. If you cant see 11 shades of gray, your monitor is not properly adjusted. 100% black – should be evenly blended with this page.
